How to align UX design with business goals

Our goal for the project was to create a strong experience 360 views to show refined data in a quick access for bankers and middle office that take decisions each day in the different branches around the world.

The foundation of the project was based that embraced a idea rapidly evolving business and involving diverse bankers.

Our high level goals were to:

  • Make it fast and easy to use for everyone, everywhere.
  • Give more control over data to reach theirs goals.
  • Create a platform for innovation and deeper engagement.

User stories provided a structured framework for capturing client requirements, enabling the team to understand and address the specific needs, preferences, and pain points of the end-users.

This platform not only delivers essential financial information but also leverages information to ensure security, convenience, and a seamless user experiences.

UX Discovery - US

The sessions were important to define main user stories. These US were our first steps to find out a solution for improve bankers experience.

userstorys

We did focus on refining user storys to get ideas that help to reach our goals. We tried to balance between business goals and significance experience.

Identify journeys of our users

We understand that it would be neccesary to know our users and ask to them any relevant detail to make decisions every day. We tried to cover all regions and I interviewed many bankers -juniors, seniors, VP- to get findings.

Day to day at the office:

“My team’s calls this week gives information about the calls that were handled by the call center users on my team during the past week, including associated records and the result of each call.”

“My calls today report gives you information about the calls that I initiated or received during the past day, including associated records and the result of each call.”

“My calls this week report gives you information about the calls that i initiated or received during the past week, including associated records and the result of each call.”

Banking environments are really complex and sophisticated, anyway talk about each one of them could be extensive, but understand the process and the context between products and services and the client would be more practical way to convey this information in tools to create a proposal.

Crafting some artefacts

post-it

We identify insights with high priority to implement as requirements in the wireframes.

  • Filter by GLSC and country reduce ambiguity and task time.
  • More relevant information to bankers is related to year today and year over year, it’s important communicate to them date refresh.

  • Map as a interactive resource for search precision by region, country or branch.

At glance data

At this point, we feel the need to design a section where they find out the most relevant KPI’s at first sight.

We had ensured would focus on the context that they will consider most important data to make a prospect or close a deal.

Data-at-first-glance

Our approach was to give more control to the user over data to reach theirs goals:

Functionalities to be developed

User will be able to:

  • Download all rows in the datatable in the single click. We want to deliver data to be manipulated for them.
  •  Provides an outstanding documentation , where people can search for and dive into any information related with theirs clients.
  • Customization views table gives more control and increase awareness of the system in which they  operate. This kind of features can impact process and business outcomes.

Design System and Assets Library’ is living documentation

It doesn’t have to be done all at once, but updated as possible. Updating as possible to add new components or refactorizing old ones.

UX Best practices

  • Do a context with benchmark o microcharts, it would be more easy to understand the data.

metrics

  • Consistence should allow to the users not to focus on the application, but on their objectives.
  • Reinforce continuity by clearly and concisely main data  with visual cues that reflect the user’s selections from the dash board experience.
  • Keep messaging communication between team to benefit‑led and action‑oriented.
